"this album is the next chapter in my exploration of different surroundings and nature. with every new recording the project moves on in a different sound direction, inspired by the places and things which were tried to explore through sound. this time the subjects are trees and their relationship to time and life. on this release you can hear long microtonal drone pieces, field recordings and some synth schabernack, always connected to the trees which were recorded. the most important thing you can learn from them is: don´t take yourself too seriously. things come and go. enjoy the walk through."

nuremberg's phillip hager (zement) wanders into the woods to find clearings of peace and solemnity. droney excursions with synths and effects, flickering lights on needle carpets. take a breather on the forrest bed and play this tape.

"in precipice, pjs conjures a lush sound-world that begs complete immersion on the part of the listener. with a maze of loops wandering across the surface, sometimes burrowing deep, and other times reappearing as if summoned, this complex meandering of sound feels like a low-flying journey above an alien dreamscape, both vast in its scope and delicately wrought in its abundance of detail. using sparkling pads, windswept reverberations, melancholic horns, and crystalline cries from endlessly repeating waterfalls, each track creates its own evolving geography for the listener to observe and get lost in. we may not recognize where we are, or where we are headed, but pjs welcomes us as passengers to embrace this experience of unknowing and to sit back and enjoy: here, the journey itself is the point."

It´s when the outlines of all things dissolve and everything seems to be connected to one another, at the same time things are damped and less obstrusive. especially on these days he tries to transfer the atmosphere from the outside to the inside as well, to dissolve the outlines of his intruments as well an let them flow one into another. a meeting of guitar, piano and a eurorack modular. somewhere between the rivers rhine and moselle."
