I suppose I was aiming for something like landscapes in sound, trying to capture the essence of the physical elements that go into making the scene in nabokov's story and translating them into sound. the fairytale-like beauty of the scene is underscored by the fact that, no sooner has the main character of the story discovered this idyllic moment of escape than he is rudely dragged back to the "real" world. "formic syntax" began as an experiment in sound-design which organically grew into a full-length album. composed primarily in berlin, with additional work being done in poland, each piece focuses on the unique capabilities of both fm and granular synthesis methods to create new auditory landscapes. the album embraces opposing spectrums of ambience and chaos - approaches to music which utterly fascinate me - with a focus on densely layered and intricately detailed construction, subtly backed with heavily-effected and distorted field recordings recorded, mostly, in and around Berlin city. the gnome's pond c46

far away from civilisation there's a place in a distant nowhere, a spot invisible from space and therefore providing a clear sight into it. there time meanders like the whispering streams and elves, gnomes and toads chase ancient myths around a pond. here space has a different sound that literally resets the patterns of experiencing the dialog with musical instruments. that's what happened to gage, floyd and rahel in that barn by the gnome's pond in summer 2017.
krauty music inspired by weirdo outsiders like thoreau or roedelius. play this tape to move into your rural frame of mind and heal your wounds stroken by everyday life.

with "music for cosmic nights", dry valleys continues deeper into the vibrantly lucid ambient daydreams explored earlier through tapes on sacred phrases, 2:00am tapes, hooker vision, and hobo cult. it's an eerie but inviting set of blurred drone music that hits like aural dopamine.

sinister though beautiful droney ambient music to enter the void.
